Seven golfers recently played a record 321 holes and raised a creditable 160,000 South African Rand for a charitable trust.
According to a Sports24 report, Steenberg's Director of Golf, Ian Kennedy, and six other Steenberg PGA professionals played golf in a relay style format for twelve hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to raise the money for the iThemba House Trust.
The 321 holes was eight holes more than their previous record and is also their highest recorded monetary total so far.
The challenge was to see who could raise the most money and play the most holes in the allotted 12 hours.
The intention behind the challenge is to donate more funds for others.
Kennedy said he is likely to expand the challenge each year and next year is looking at a team in KwaZulu-Natal.
