Congress leader P.C. Chacko on Sunday alleged that the achievements of Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre do not match with the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha polls.

"The Prime Minister has made a good speech and he is a good speaker and orator. However, the fact is whether people who listened to him believed him or not," Chacko told ANI here.

"He concluded his speech by saying 'We want to dream'. There is no limit on anyone to dream, but the fact is that their [the BJP government's] achievements in the past seven months do not tally with his promises," he added.

Chacko also alleged that India's economy has remained stagnant despite the crashing of global oil prices.

"Today, despite the fact that oil rates have crashed all over the world, India's foreign exchange outflow has considerably reduced and the growth of the economy is still stagnant," he stated.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi, speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit in Gandhinagar, said that he is committed to reviving the Indian economy and to create a fair and transparent policy environment in the country.
