A new wearable computing gadget in-the-making could potentially allow soldiers in war zone to have live feed of data about enemy positions, location of fellow soldiers, 3D building layouts and drone footage.
The device, dubbed Q-Warrior, built by UK-based BAE Systems, has the potential to display full colour 3D information to soldiers in a manner akin to Google's wearable Glass device and boost their situational awareness.
According to Mashable, battlefields are full of data that could potentially change the way wars are fought, however, there hadn't been any way to live-stream that data to soldiers on the ground.
Although BAE Systems and the US military haven't confirmed about the contract, but they have said that it is only a short matter of time before soldiers will be sporting new eyewear.
The business development lead for soldier systems at BAE Systems, Paul Wright said that the gadget would probably begin with a select group such as a special forces team like the Navy Seals, the report added.
