Headline-making head accessory Google Glass is all set to get its second sporting app modeled on the Australian Football League, beating the English Premier League and America's National Football League, in a bid to get fans closer to the game with unique touch capabilities.

According to the Courier Mail, Telstra today revealed it had already built an AFL app for the net-savvy gadget, beating other sports and telcos to the punch, and said that the app would be launched when Google is ready.

Telstra digital media and content director Adam Good said the company paired with local developer Seventh Beam to create the app after chief executive David Thodey secured an early version of Google Glass during a trip to the United States, according to the report.

Good admitted using the app, and Google Glass, at a football game could look odd, but he said they would adapt to the technology, just as we did with smartphones, the report mentioned.

Google's internet-savvy spectacles are not yet available in Australia, but the country's first Google Glass sporting app is ready for their launch, the report said.

Earlier, a Google glass app for watching live baseball had also been proposed.
