In what could be termed as an utter lawlessness in the poll-bound state of West Bengal, the goons were seen walking out in open in Burdwan district this morning.

They were seen brandishing pistols and threatening people in the district.

This comes after violence escalated in West Bengal where despite massive security arrangements a Communist Party of India (Marxist) worker was killed after a crude bomb was allegedly hurled by a Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker in Jitpur village in Murshidabad district.

Earlier, a Congress booth worker Basu Malpaharia was allegedly abducted by the TMC workers and was later rescued, following which a complaint was lodged by the grand old party at the Hariharpara Police Station.

Two Trinamool workers were arrested after clashes with CPI-M supporters in Burdwan while in Nadia's Shantipur, a Congress candidate was allegedly attacked by Trinamool workers, according to the EC official.

There seems to be no dent in the incidents of violence despite the beefed up security, including adequate deployment of Central paramilitary forces.
