'Game of Thrones' actress Natalie Dormer doesn't shy to speak her mind on the subject of sexism and recently she addressed both the positive and negative aspects of the film industry.

Talking in regard to the inequality in the film industry, the 34-year-old actress said that the tide is definitely turning, just slower than we would all like, so one needs to focus on the positive, reports the Independent reported.

In the last year alone, she pointed out, the likes of 'Mad Max: Fury Road' and 'The Hunger Games' both featured female protagonists and were commercial successes. Along with 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' they proved that an audience will go and see a female protagonist in an action movie.

Dormer said that the change should come from the top as it doesn't lie in the actors; it lies with the scripts being written which give those opportunities and write those characters and it comes from the people who commission those scripts. So, it comes from the money men and the studios.

The actress added that she doesn't think that scripts should be written especially for women, a change of name in the script would be sufficient like what Angelina Jolie did with 'Salt' was a role originally for Tom Cruise.
