The government has accepted the resignation of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson Leela Samson.
Samson had resigned following the clearance given by Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) to Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's film, 'Messenger of God'.
She had alleged interference, coercion and corruption of panel members and officers of the Board who are appointed by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, however, denied any coercion being enforced on the CBFC.
He said the entire board was appointed by the previous government and none of the members have been changed and no additional member has been put in.
