Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday hit out at the opposition for disrupting proceedings in the Parliament over Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retd.) V.K. Singh's 'dog' remark and dubbed it to be 'fabricated funda' on the issue of intolerance.

Attempting to silence the critics of the BJP-led NDA Government, Naqvi said the latest development in the Parliament has exposed the arrogance of the opposition.

"The issue of V. K. Singh is similar to the fabricated funda of intolerance which they had raised and eventually got themselves trapped into it," Naqvi told the media here.

The Congress had earlier maintained that it would continue with its protest in the Lok Sabha over General (Retd.) Singh's controversial 'dog' remark on death of Dalit children in Haryana.

"The way in which V. K Singh, who is a minister in this government linked Dalit children to dogs and in a way dubbed Dalits as dogs, he should resign," Congress leader Pramod Tiwari told ANI.

The opposition parties had earlier this week staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha, demanding an apology from the Minister of State for External Affairs over his dog analogy.
