The Congress Party on Wednesday said Centre is diluting labor laws in favour of industrial lobbies.

"The government is diluting labor laws for protecting the interest of industrial lobbies. The Factory Act, the Industrial Dispute Act and the Contract Labor Abolition Act, which were protecting labourers are being diluted in the favour of industrial lobbies" Congress leader P C Chacko told ANI.

Chacko further said, "This (trade union strike) is a warning to the government, and , it should refrain from hindering exiting trade union laws in the country."

Chacko's comments came in response to a move by ten central trade unions to hold a one-day nationwide strike to protest against changes in the labour laws.

The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) General Secretary, Gurudas Dasgupta said,"The strike has been wonderful and splendid it has been effective throughout country. This strike is against the anti worker policies of government, against the labor reforms and inflation.
