With Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson Syedah Asiya Andrabi opposing the proposed New Year celebrations to be held at tourist resort of Gulmarg, Minister of State (MoS) in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Dr. Jitendra Singh on Monday said the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir was capable enough to tackle such a situation.

"The situation in J&K has normalised to a great deal, except some sporadic incidents, and the state government is capable of dealing with such situations," he said.

Responding to a poser that such threats are not good for the tourism industry, Dr. Singh said, "Of course, tourism industry is one of the most important sources of revenue to the state and people now understand that they are being misled. And that is why they are not supporting such elements."

"The common youth wish to be a part of the journey to prosperity and development initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he added.

Syedah had earlier while opposing the proposed New Year celebrations alleged that these programmes are being organised under an agenda devised by the RSS to thrust upon Kashmir the shameless and lewd culture of India.

"This programme is not a Parvaaz of Kashmir, but the Parvaaz of a vulture which is always destined towards filth," she said.

Syedah described the night-long programme being organised by some "unknown group - Kashmiriyat" on December 31 at Gulmarg as "cultural onslaught".

"This programme is being sponsored by few Urdu and English dailies and TV channels. In this proposed programme in the name of art music and comedy, shameless actors of Bollywood have been invited. These events are being branded as Kashmiriyat," Andrabi said.

"In a clear attempt to counter the Islamic ideology of Kashmiris, the real culture of Kashmir is related to Islam and it has no place to celebrate events like New Year. These events can be important for the Brahman culture but they don't have any connection with Islam," she added.

Syedah also alleged that these programmes are being organised under an agenda devised by the RSS to thrust upon Kashmir the shameless and lewd culture of India.

The chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat asked the people to remain away from these programmes 'at any cost'.

"On one hand our youth are laying down their lives for Islam and on the other hand these shameless programmes are being held. We should not play a part in these plans of the RSS otherwise on the day of judgement the martyrs will question us before Allah and we will not be able to face the Prophet," she said.
