Providing details of the NDA Government's ambitious plans to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Quit India Movement, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday said that programs would be held across the nation to make youth aware of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters during the freedom struggle.

Speaking to the media after BJP parliamentary party meeting, Naidu said 75 ministers would be visiting important places across the country to spread the message of patriotism.

"The idea of this program is to rekindle the spirit of patriotism among the people and to convey to the new generation about the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. All the incidents pertaining to freedom struggle would be recalled so that the younger generation takes inspiration," he said.

Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch this campaign on August 9.

"This time it is the 75th year of Quit India Movement. He will launch this program, followed by ministers visiting the places like Jallianwala Bagh, Dandi, Kakoro, Kittur Rani Chennamma," he said.

"They will pay tributes to the icons of the country at their native places. Ex-servicemen will also be honoured. There are several, who fought for country and their names are not well known, our effort is to bring that to the fore as well," he added.

In the 22nd edition of his 'Mann Ki Baat' address earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi urged the people to celebrate the anniversary of the Quit India Movement and Independence Day as a festival of freedom.
