Congress Party leader Manish Tewari today slammed the government for sending out contradictory signals to Pakistan on a daily basis and said that by saying one thing and doing another, the government is setting itself to be played.
His comments have come after the fifth consecutive ceasefire violation by Pakistan in R.S. Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir since Monday, instilling fear among the villagers living along the international border.
Tewari told ANI, "You send out contradictory signals to Pakistan on a daily basis and their feeling among the ISI and its instrumentality is that this government is not prepared to walk the talk. It says one thing does quite another, then you are setting yourself to be played".
"And therefore, the strategy of the permanent establishment in Pakistan to 'bleed India with a thousand cuts' is something which then gets implemented even more aggressively", he added.
Earlier, security expert Alok Bansal had said that the reason Pakistan was creating tension along the Line of Control (LOC) was to divert the attention of its citizens from the ongoing internal turmoil.
There has been a series of ceasefire violations from across the border since the past two months.
