Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said the government is serious about the issue of fake currency.
"We have facts and assessments on the fake currency issue. There can be ups and downs in the facts, as they are sometimes collected on assumptions," Rijiju told media here.
"We are very cautious on this matter. Whenever a case comes, proper action is initiated. We are very serious on this issue because it affects our economy," he added.
Rijiju made his views known in the wake of two recent seizures of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) from Bangladesh (Rs 2.71 crores and Rs 1.28 crores).
