Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said that the NDA Government would launch a nation-wide campaign to highlight the 'obstructionist and disruptive' attitude of the Congress Party in Parliament and expose their double standards before the nation.
Naidu alleged that the Congress Party wants to stall the country's growth with their repeated moves to disrupt the parliamentary proceedings.
"They want to fail the government. They want to stall the Parliament. They want to stall the growth of India. That's their purpose. They have done it in the most ugly manner if I have to say. The reason is they have floated all the rules and regulations and the parliamentary norms," said Naidu.
"The BJP and the NDA today met and in the leadership of the Prime Minister have decided to go on a nationwide campaign to educate the people, to highlight the obstructionist, disruptive activities of the Congress Party and their evil designs of failing the nation and stalling the progress," he added.
Highlighting that the campaign would be aimed at exposing the double standards of the Congress Party, Naidu informed that in the first round, a groups of MLAs and MPs, led by senior ministers, will go around the country and conduct programmes.
"So, we thought better to take it to the people. In the first round, groups of MLAs and MPs, led by senior ministers, will go around the country. We will cover at the first instance, the Congress MPs constituencies, then the Communist MPs constituencies and other MPs who are instrumental in obstructing the House. We will be taking programmes. There is no question of confrontation with anybody," he added.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament was marred by repeated adjournments. A relentless Congress continuously demanded the resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over the Lalit-Gate. The opposition also mounted pressure on the Centre over the Vyapam scam in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh.
