TV host Graham Norton normally opens 'The Graham Norton Show' with witty one-liners and funny jokes, but recently he broke the norm and started his show by giving a moving tribute to the victims of Manchester terror attack.

The Irish star said he would usually start the show with some funny stories, but sometimes the world is not a very funny place, reports The Independent.

"Normally at the start of the show we take a look at some of the funny things that have been going on in the world. Sometimes the world isn't a very funny place, especially after the terrible event in Manchester," he shared.

Adding, "So tonight all we are going to do is bring you a bit of distraction. We'll do some jokes, chat about films and books, listen to music, tell some silly stories and flip some people on a big red chair, and we hope it brings a smile."

The 54-year-old-comedian concluded by stating that the whole world is standing with Manchester in these saddening times.

"We record this show in London. I live in London. But we are watched not only the length and breadth of Britain, but also around the world too, and that gives me the chance to say, Manchester, we are all standing with you," he added.

22 people were killed and more than 100 injured when a bomb exploded at the end of Ariana's Dangerous Woman concert at the Manchester Arena on Monday.
