Graphic photographs from inside the home of Oscar Pistorius, which were taken by the South African police after the Paralympian fatally shot his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last year, have reportedly been released to the media.
The photos include blood-splattered images of the bathroom where Steenkamp was hit by four bullets fired from a 9-mm pistol through a door, along with an image of the bloodstained autographed cricket bat, which Pistorius used to break down the door after shooting.
According to News.com.au, the Blade Runner is expected to take the stand in his murder trial in Pretoria later this week and is likely to testify that he feared an intruder was inside the bathroom when he opened fire, not realising that Steenkamp was in there until later.
Pistorius, who has pleaded not guilty, was expected to take the stand last week but was not given the chance to testify after the case was adjourned until April 7 because a senior court official was sick, the report added.
