Australian cricket legend Greg Chappell, who was Indian coach for two years from 2005, has said that he had never seen a cricketer with such a fastidious preparation as Sachin Tendulkar and that he had some amazing idiosyncrasies.
According to News.com.au, Chappell revealed that Tendulkar was very fussy about his batting and his bats and he used to spend hours and hours with a scalpel just cleaning and scraping his bat.
The Australian legend added that when Tendulkar batted in the middle, he did not want to see a single blemish on his bat, adding that when his bat did not exactly look right or feel right, he himself did not feel right and his attention to detail was amazing.
Australian batsmen such as Matthew Hayden and Mike Hussey had an attention to detail that at times could border on being obsessive, but Tendulkar took things to a new level, the said.
Chappell also revealed that Tendulkar had a highly superstitious nature and he liked to do everything in the same way he had done before the previous game.
