Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel made an aerial survey of flood affected areas of Saurashtra in Gujarat on Thursday afternoon.
At least 45 people have died due to heavy rains and the flood-like situation in the state in the last 24 hours.
The local weather office has issued warning of a very heavy downpour in most parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
According to reports, Patel will also hold a high-level meeting with the District Collector and other senior officers in the Amreli district after making an aerial survey of the worst affected areas.
While schools and colleges in the districts of Amreli, Rajkot, Gir Somnath, Devbhoomi Dwarka and Bhavnagar districts remain closed, the markets in these areas will remain partially open in other places.
NDRF personnel and Air Force helicopters are busy in rescue and relief operation in the worst affected areas.
