Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton emerged as the fastest driver in the rain-marred second practice session of the new Formula season at the Australian Grand Prix on Friday.
The British driver, who also topped the opening practice session, reasserted his superiority by clocking a best lap time of one minute 38.841 seconds in the slippery track conditions ahead of Saturday's qualifying, Sport24 reported.
Meanwhile, his teammate Nico Rosberg endured a troubling start to the season as he lost control of the rear end of his car before crashing his Mercedes.
Nico Hulkenberg of Force India finished second ahead of Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen.
