Out of favour off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said Tuesday that Sachin Tendulkar was absolutely right in saying that former Indian cricket team coach Greg Chappell managed and ran the side like a ringmaster between 2005 and 2007, and confirmed that the latter followed a policy of divide and rule.

"Sachin is absolutely right and it is good that he has revealed everything now. Greg Chappell followed the policy of divide and rule. Through media, he made his good report, but at the end of the day, we players realized his motives," said Singh.

"The result of 2007 World Cup could have been better. He had an ego problem," he added.

"The good thing is that Greg Chappell is far away from India. He created a negative environment," said Singh.

Tendulkar, in his soon to be released autobiography 'Playing it My Way', he has lashed out at Greg Chappell, and claimed that the former Australian captain had suggested that he take over from Rahul Dravid as captain before the 2007 World Cup that was played in the Caribbean.

"Unlike John Wright and Gary Kirsten, Greg was like a ringmaster who imposed his ideas on us," says Tendulkar in his upcoming autobiography.

However, Chappel has reportedly rejected the charges as untrue.

In 2011, he described Tendulkar as 'fragile on occasions'.
