A combined team of Assam forest guards and CBI sleuths recently arrested Amar Bori, one of the most wanted Rhino poachers, from the Bokakhat area of Assam.

Several incriminating documents and a huge stash of cash were recovered from his hiding place.

During interrogation, he confessed to having killed five rhinos in the Kaziranga National Park over the last three years.

In its initial stage of investigation into rhino-poaching cases in Kaziranga National Park (KNP), the CBI said it has got "some vital clues" from Bori who was picked up from the Agaratali range a few days back.

"Investigation is going on. The CBI team is camping here," said KNP Director N K Basu.

A team of CBI investigators has been camping in the park for the past few days, and have collected statements recorded by forest officials while they were interrogating Bori.

Investigations have revealed that Bori was residing earlier in a location close to the wildlife park, and then shifted his residence to Jagun in Tinsukia district about six months back to cover his involvement in the rhino killings.

Meanwhile, the Greater Assamese Youth Association took out a bike rally from Golaghat town to the National Park in protest against the frequent poaching of Rhinos in Kaziranga.
