Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has held the over ambitiousness of deposed chief minister Harish Rawat responsible for the ongoing political turmoil in Uttarakhand.

In an exclusive interview to ETV News Network Head Jagdish Chandra, Baba Ramdev said that he did not play any role in the political turmoil that has engulfed Uttarakhand.

"I heard this happened due to over ambitiousness of Harish Rawat," he said on ETV's popular 'The J C Show'.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand Nainital High Court today once again adjourned the hearing on the disqualification of nine rebel Congress MLAs till May 9.

Senior advocate Amit Sibal today placed his arguments on behalf of the Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal before a single bench of Justice U.C. Dhyani. On the other hand, the advocate, who had to represent the nine rebel Congress MLAs, did not appear before the court today.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Supreme Court had extended its stay on the Uttarakhand High Court's order quashing President's rule in the state.

The apex court asked the contesting parties to reply to seven questions which go to the heart of the matter, referring to the role of the governor, the disqualification of MLAs by the Speaker, whether President's rule can affect the sanctioning of the Appropriations Bill and at what stage, whether delay in a floor test can be a ground for imposition and the like.

The apex court will hear the matter again on May 3.

There will be no floor test in Uttarakhand on April 29.

During the course of the hearing, the issue of the alleged sting operation on Harish Rawat was also raised by the Centre.

Rawat's counsel, however, refuting the allegations of horse-trading, claimed that the decision of imposing President's rule was taken well before the authenticity of the sting could have been verified.
