Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, who paid a visit to Lady Hardinge Medical College, today said the Health Ministry is trying to upgrade the facilities in hospitals.
Dr Vardhan said, "Reducing infant mortality rate is a priority. No pregnant women should die because she could not get better medicine, hospital and best treatment on time. We are talking to our doctors' junior doctors and patients to improve the condition. It is a slow process. We are trying to improve the cleanliness at the hospital.
"We are going to implement World Health Organization programme all over the country. We will try to convince all the health ministers in medical council to implement the structure of WHO plans. Delhi plan in WHO is there in many countries and it will be implemented with more vision," he added.
Dr Harsh Vardhan also visited Kalavati Children's hospital in New Delhi today where he visited the ICU, surgery and oncology ward where he interacted with patients and directed for various improvements.
