Haryana Chief Minister M L Khattar on Monday lauded the state police for solving the case involving the brutal rape and murder of a 28-year old Nepalese woman in Rohtak.

The police have arrested eight people from the Gaddi Kheri village in the Rohtak district in connection with the case.

"Some people have been arrested from the Gaddi Kheri village [in connection with the Rohtak incident]. One of the arrested is from Nepal; his role in the incident has to be investigated. Some people are on the run and police will soon arrest them," Khattar told the media.

Earlier, a 28-year-old mentally challenged woman of Nepalese origin was brutally raped and murdered in the Bahu Akbarpur area of the Rohtak district in Haryana.

The victim's body had been discovered on Wednesday, three days after she went missing, with key organs missing and with sticks, stones and condoms stuffed into her private parts.
