Union Home Minister on Wednesday told the Rajya Sabha that he will take all steps necessary to stop the telecast of the documentary made on the 'Nirbhaya' gang-rape case, assuring that the government will institute an inquiry for the same.
The official twitter handle of the office of the Home Minister shared his views on the issue via a series of tweets.
"The producers of documentary on Nirbhaya were required to take approval from the Jail authorities before telecast but they did not do so: HM"
"Our government condemns the incident of 2012. The govt has taken necessary action and secured a court order restraining telecast of film:HM"
"I was deeply hurt by this when I came to know about it yesterday.I spoke to authorities and made sure all steps taken to stop the broadcast:HM"
"The govt will institute an inquiry into this incident and responsibility will be fixed :HM in Rajya Sabha"
The documentary in question, titled 'India's Daughter', includes an interview of Mukesh Singh, who is among the six men accused of gang-raping a 23-year-old girl on December 16, 2012 on board a moving bus.
