Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden has hit out at sacked coach Mickey Arthur and said that he has no right to have an opinion on the culture of the national side.
According to news.com.au, Arthur had recently admitted that he lost former vice-captain Shane Watson after the infamous homework saga in India, and said several young members of the Test team had big egos despite not being great players.
However, it was Arthur's comments about the influence of ex-players in the current Aussie dressing room that really got Hayden angry, the report said.
Hayden said that the country was, in fact, an old boys' club sine there were more than 450 players that had played for the country.
The former cricketer said that Australia was proud of its culture and proud of its community of cricketers.
Arthur was sacked just two weeks before the start of the Ashes series, with a lack of discipline amongst the squad seen as one of the key reasons for his removal, the report added.
