HBO is working on a 1970s set rock music series, and has brought Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger onboard as executive producers.

The project, which is currently untitled, would center on fictional record label American Century Records, along with the characters who made rock 'n' roll happen at the time, the Verge reported.

Both Scorsese and Jagger, who have been fixtures of the '70s rock era, had reportedly been working on the pilot for years.

The series would see Bobby Cannavale as Richie Finestra, the drug-addled founder and president of American Century, Olivia Wilde, who'll play his former-Bohemian wife Devon, and Jagger's son James as Kip Stevens, the lead singer of an early punk band.

Meanwhile, notorious comedian Andrew "Dice" Clay too is in tow to play Frank "Buck" Rogers, the owner of a chain of radio stations.
