In a special ceremony, Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh, along with the heads of missions of more than 70 countries, participating in the next year's Kumbh Mela, collectively hoisted the flags of their respective countries here on Saturday.
"Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam-World is one family. In a special ceremony, MoS @Gen_VKSingh along with Heads of Missions of over 70 countries participating at #Kumbh2019 collectively hoisted their nations' flags @PrayagrajKumbh These would be displayed during the entire duration of the Mela," wrote Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs on his Twitter handle, while attaching a video of the ceremony.
Earlier today, the heads of missions based in Delhi arrived in Prayagraj on a special flight to oversee the preparations of the 2019 Kumbh Mela.
"Heads of Missions day out! More than 70 Heads of Missions based in Delhi are on board a special flight to Prayagraj to witness Kumbh Mela in the Making - massive preparations underway for UNESCO inscribed 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity' festival of peace & harmony," tweeted Kumar.
The Ardh Kumbh Mela will commence from January 14 to March 3 next year at the Triveni Sangam - the holy confluence of river Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Thousands of devotees will flock to the city to take a holy dip in Triveni Sangam.
