The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday recorded heat wave condition with the highest temperature of 42.3 degrees Celsius in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district following a rise in temperature during night hours also.
Locals reportedly have been consuming cold drinks to beat the heat and choosing to stay in their houses to avoid the heat wave here.
People have stopped coming out from 11am to 4pm from their houses to avoid the scorching heat.
The ongoing heat wave conditions across the southern states have led to severe water crisis in Gulbarga city in Karnataka.
