The death toll due to the scorching heat wave conditions in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has risen to over 750.
While 551 people died in Andhra Pradesh, at least 213 people were reported dead in Telangana.
Raagundam in Telangana sizzled with a maximum temperature of 44.8 degree Celsius, even as Met officials released a heat wave warning for Adilabad, Khammam, Nalgonda, Karimnagar districts in the state.
In Andhra Pradesh,the maximum temperature of 46.8 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jangameswarapuram of Prakasam district.
Tuni of East Godavari District recorded 46.3 degrees Celsius while Kakinada recorded 46.1 degrees Celsius.
The government of Andhra Pradesh has declared the situation caused by heat wave alarming and appealed to people not to venture out between 11am and 4 pm.
The chief minister of the state also announced an aid of Rs 1 lakh for the families of victims of heat wave.
