The Meteorological Department in Uttarakhand has issued a heavy rainfall alert for the next 48 hours at isolated places especially in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pauri, Tehri, Nainital, Almora and Pithoragarh districts.
All District Magistrates have been asked to remain alert and be prepared with precautionary measures in view of the Met department's warning.
The pilgrims of Chardham Yaatra have been advised to take necessary precautions and avoid visiting places known for their susceptibility to landslides.
