Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Co. has detected high radiation levels near three water storage tanks at the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.

According to the Japan Times, the highest reading of radiation was 69.9 millisieverts per hour near one of the three tanks storing radioactive water towards the west of the building with reactor No. one.

The highest reading of radiation levels in the same area taken in early September was 2,200 millisieverts per hour, the report added.

The radiation levels near the other two tanks were 19.95 millisieverts and 39.95 millisieverts.

However, the company has not yet confirmed any radioactive water leak, and there has been no change in water levels in the three tanks.
