Ahead of the 2016 presidential elections, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been touted as much more popular than Republicans Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, according to a new poll.

The Quinnipiac University poll shows that Clinton's potential rival Vice President Joseph Biden, will not even secure as much votes to be a part of the presidential race, the Washington Times reports.

According to the survey, Clinton is leading Paul, 49 percent to 41 percent; and Mr. Bush, 48 percent to 40 percent while Biden trails Paul, 43 percent to 39 percent and Bush, 44 percent to 38 percent.

The report said that while she won the women 55 percent to 35 percent but lost men 45 percent to 40 percent.

About 52 percent voters have given their responses in favour of Clinton, while 40 percent perceive her negatively against a 61 percent to 34 percent favorable-unfavorable rating in a past survey conducted in February by the independent pollster.
