Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday flagged off a new express train between Baijnath Paprola to Pathankot from Baijnath-Paporla railway station.
While addressing the gathering on the occasion, Chief Minister said: "This express service will not only help faster transportation to the local public but will also encourage tourists to visit this region. The train will cover the distance between Baijnath Paprola and Pathankot in 5 hours 5 minutes which will make travelling by train more attractive and time-saving."
Thakur also informed, "All major stations have been provided with Wi-fi facility. Website of Kangra valley railway will also be launched very soon for easier access to the passengers."
Divisional Railways Manager Vivek Kumar, who was also present on the occasion, said: "This express train would give a new boost to the tourism development in the region. All the trains plying on this section have been refurbished so that tourists can enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. 26 main stations and all 15 stations between Pathankot and Jogindernagar section have been provided with free wi-fi facilities."
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kishan Kapoor, Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar, MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, MLAs Ravinder Kumar, Arun Kumar and Prakash Rana, Former MLA Dulo Ram, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Deputy Commissioner Kangra Sandeep Kumar were also present.
