Ther Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday hailed the formation of the first ever BJP-PDP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, saying it was a historic day for the state.
"Today is a historic day in J-K. We wish the new government all the very best," said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi stated that Jammu and Kashmir was sure to get a treatment like never before.
"The Modi government has one principle, 'India First', J-K is sure to get a treatment like never before. There is an equator between the North pole and the south pole where the sun shines the brightest. Jammu and Kashmir is that equator," added.
Earlier in the day, PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of J-K and BJP leader Nirmal Singh took oath as the Deputy chief minister.
He was administered the oath of office by Governor NN Vohra at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium in Jammu University.

Mufti will be heading a PDP-BJP coalition government in the state, ending the 49-day Governor's rule in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and party veteran L K Advani were among those who attended the ceremony.
