Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday once again appealed to left-wing extremists to give up the path of violence and join the mainstream.

"We want a solution and appeal to Maoists ideologues to give up path of violence, willing to talk and find solution to problems. There is no place of violence in a country which has democracy," Singh told ANI here.

Terming that violence has no place in the society, Singh said, " The biggest weapon that a citizen has is using its franchise to vote. There is no place for violence. We must work together for those people who are still deprived of country's development. "

He also said that he will hold a meeting with top officials of the state and will decide on what action plan should be taken in order to develop the backward areas of Jharkhand.

Earlier, the Home Minister was seen interacting with tribal women of the Naxal affected area and distributing sarees and other items to them and their kids.

Rajnath Singh's visit is aimed at personally assessing the preparedness of security forces fighting against Maoist rebels.
