Hong Kong's pro-democracy student leaders who were called on suspicion of participating in illegal gathering have been freed without charge after they told the police about their role in the demonstrations.
According to BBC, four students including Joshua Wong were put under investigation and told that they could be charged.
Joshua Wong said that he was held for three hours on charges of "calling for, inciting and participating in an unauthorised assembly".
The student leaders are protesting against China's decision to vet candidates in the country's 2017 elections.
The protests had brought the city to a stand still for two months from September to November last year.
