Errol Brown has passed away following a battle with liver cancer. He was 71.
The frontman of 70's- 80's band Hot Chocolate, who was known for hits including 'You Sexy Thing' and 'It Started with a Kiss,' took his last breath at his home in the Bahamas, confirmed his manager Phil Dale, the Mirror reported.
Dale said that the singer was "a wonderful gentleman" who always had music around him, and though he would be greatly missed by everyone his legacy in form of music will live on.
After completing a farewell tour in 2009, the singer had admitted that he like retiring as he was "losing energy" and had "done his thing." He had thanke his fans for their love and support, adding that every concert will stay "in my heart forever."
Brown, who was made an MBE in 2003 and received an Ivor Novello Award for his outstanding contribution to British music in 2004, is survived by his wife Ginette and two daughters Colette and Leonie.
