Wimbledon champion Andy Murray may face a ticking-off from his watch sponsors Rado, who reportedly pay him one million pounds to wear their product, after it was revealed that he had worn the watch seven hours after his win over Serbian ace Novak Djokovic last Sunday.

According to the Mirror, pictures have revealed that Murray's luxury automatic timepiece had stopped at 10.27, although the time according to the Centre Court scoreboard after Murray's epic victory was 5.24, suggesting that the British No.1 is not a regular wearer of the timepiece.

The report further said that the men's singles champion had tried to put right this time an embarrassing blunder after winning last year's US Open, when he could not find his black D-Star Automatic Chronograph to wear at the trophy presentation

Aware that his actions may displease the Swiss watch-makers Rado, the report added that after the Scot beat Djokovic, he hastily strapped on the 2,589-pound worth watch, although he did not realise that it was seven hours out.

Explaining the reasons behind the timepiece's machinations, an expert said that the watch winds itself due to the wearer's movement and will never stop, unless it is not worn for a few days.

Meanwhile, Murray is set to branch out into clothing of his own by following in Fred Perry's footsteps with his own clothing range, and the report said that his advisors are targeting America as the men's game is short on stars in the USA at the moment.
