Facebook co-founder Sean Parker has been slapped with 2.5 million dollars fine for not getting proper permits required for his extravagant wedding to singer Alexandra Lenas.

The newlywed built the equivalent of an elaborate movie set by a 'Lord of the Rings' designer near the protected forest's classic towering redwoods and a stream that contained threatened steelhead trout.

The project included fake ruins, waterfalls, a cottage and staircases, and a rocking dance floor amid the flora and fauna.

The couple also hired Oscar-winning costume designer Ngila Dickson to design their costumes for their grand affair.

According to the New York Post, the California Coastal Commission, an independent state agency, called Parker to pay the fine after a local resident ratted him out.

The commission discovered the environmental breech before the wedding, but by then, all wedding preparations had been done.

The two sides finally decided that Parker would pay 2.5 million dollars that could be used for projects such as building new hiking trails and to fund grants to non-profits for their conservation efforts, commission representatives said.
