Former Australian Test cricketer Michael Hussey has warned Australia that it will face a big challenge in adjusting from the seven-match one-day series in India to the return Ashes series starting in November.

According to Fox Sports, scheduling nightmares are threatening to derail Australia's winter Ashes preparation following their 3-0 humiliation in England, with the added obstacle of the Twenty20 Champions League in September before the India ODI series.

The report further said that the ODI series would finish on November 2, less than three weeks before the Ashes kicks off at the Gabba on November 21.

Having personally experienced the scheduling nightmares during his career when he was told to play at the 2010 edition of the T20 Champions League before a Test series in India, Hussey said that his former teammates should be under no illusions as to how difficult it will be for them to readjust in such a short period of time

According to Hussey, the hardest thing for him during that period was that he got a very small amount of preparation time, adding that the players are aware of how different the conditions are and how challenging it is changing from the different conditions.

Although Hussey believed that there would be a small adjustment period when the Australian squad returns from India before the winter Ashes, he however, said that the bowlers would have to change their lengths a little bit while the batsmen will have to adjust to the faster pitches in order to get used to the quicker conditions in Australia.

Stating that it is only a matter of time before Australia's Test stars are once again stuck in a similar predicament like they did at the start of their summer, Hussey also said that he does not believe that there is much hope of significant changes being made soon given that there are a lot of politics and financial implications which need to be balanced out.
