The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the International Green Mobility Expo (GMX) 2015, supported by Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), Department of Heavy Industry, and Automotive Research Association of India from February 26 to 28 at the Pragati Maidan here.

This first and unique initiative will provide a neutral platform to the entire stakeholders of this sector to come together and initiate dialogues to create a Green Mobility Solution for India.

"International Green Mobility Expo (GMX) 2015 aims to provide an active platform for the manufacturers of e-vehicle to discuss the latest know-how in the industry besides showcasing their latest green-tech products. The e-vehicle market in India has a huge potential for growth," said SMEV Director Sohinder Gill.

"With impetus from the government in terms of making strategic policies, announcements and allocating funds, the vision to produce nearly six to seven million electric vehicles units, both four wheelers and two wheelers in India by 2020 can be fulfilled. Being a voice representing electric vehicle manufacturers, SMEV always looks forward to be associated with such events which promotes the e- vehicle industry and sensitizes common masses to go-green. It is an opportune event for the customers as well as potential associates and research scholars to have first- hand experience on e- mobility," he added.

Concurrent to the exhibition, a conference on the automotive sector, "Zero Defect Manufacturing" with a focused session on Green Mobility is also planned on February 27.

Key brands participating at GMX 2015 are TATA Motors, RENAULT-France, TOYOTA KIRLOSKAR, Maruti Suzuki, HERO Electric, KINETIC Motors, LOHIA Auto, amongst other players from this sector, with products on display at this event ranging from hybrid bus, electric and hybrid cars, electric bikes/scooters, e-rickshaws, etc.
