With the New Year's Eve just around the corner, Hyderabad is set to morph into one huge ball of bustling energy and the police is taking no chances when it comes to traffic safety.
Dr Ravinder, Joint Commissioner of traffic, while speaking to ANI, said that they are taking various measure in this regard and have also constituted 100 checkpoints to catch the offenders.
"There is a possibility of congestion and accident on the New Year's Eve. We want people not to violate rules, which also results in accidents and inconvenience to other commuters. We are going to take stringent action against drunken and rash drivers,' Dr Ravinder told ANI.
"If someone is caught drunk driving, we will seize the vehicle and take action as per law," Dr Ravinder said.
The Police has also planned to close all the flyover of the city to ensure public safety.
Barricades will be put up in some places to reduce the speed of the vehicles, in case of rash driving.
