Keith Richards, who admitted that it took him a while to get his head around the idea of being a grandfather when his first grandchild was born, recently said that now he wants to raise the profile of grandfathers.
The 'Rolling Stones' artist confessed that sometimes people try to ignore the first grandchild in a way that not the child, but the fact, the Daily Express reported.
But now he's growing into it and feels that grandparents could do great things with the kids, he further added.
Richards' acceptance of his role as a family elder was no doubt eased by an opportunity to work on a children's book entitled 'Gus and Me', with his illustrator daughter Theodora.
The English musician explained that the book wasn't his idea and it was filtered through his publishers and at the same time he was expecting my fifth grandchild, so it seemed appropriate.
The project allowed the 70-year-old musician to pay homage to his own granddad Gus Dupree, a defining influence on his early life in Dartford.
