Defending French Open champion Rafael Nadal has insisted he's "not macho" while reacting to a controversy over Spain choosing Gala Leon as their first female Davis Cup captain following Carlos Moya's exit.
Nadal's uncle had criticized the appointment of a woman, while the former world No 1 said she fuelled a debate that was "false and absurd".
The BBC quoted Nadal, as saying that he did not want to talk about sexism, but that women were very important and played a pivotal role in his life.
