Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Tuesday met members of the Central Board of Film Certification, even as board chief Pahlaj Nihalani abstained from the meeting.

"We discussed ideas and suggestions on how film certification process can be improved. Film certification is so robust in itself that no one person can affect it," Rathore said after the meeting.

Earlier on Monday, top Bollywood producers, including veteran Ramesh Sippy, Gulzar and Mukesh Bhatt met Rathore to improve the process of movie certification in the wake of recent controversies.

The Hindi film industry was up in arms after Nihalani made 23 Hindi and English 'objectionable' words off-limits for filmmakers.

Rathore said the meeting was not about an individual but to ensure that filmmaking was made easier for the industry. The meeting was held following speculation that Nihalani may soon be sacked from his post.
