'I don't support anti-national slogans': Kanhaiya Kumar

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students' Union president Kanhaiya Kumar who has been arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with alleged anti-national slogans raised in the varsity on February 9, on Wednesday said that he doesn't support anti-national slogans.

Kanhaiya, who is in two day police custody, gave a written plea to Delhi Police, saying he firmly believes in the Indian Constitution.

"It is my dream to whole heartedly contribute in implementing the preamble in totality. I believe in the unity and integrity of India and I don't support any unconstitutional move," he added.

Kanhaiya in his appeal further pointed out that an unfortunate incident took place on February 9 at Jawaharlal Nehru University, adding that he condemns it.

"After watching video footages received from various sources, I come to know that some JNU students, along with outsiders, were raising anti-national slogans which I don't support," he added.

"I appeal to you that the peace in the country, society and the universities must not be hindered," he added.
