Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Kunal Ghosh, who has been suspended from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for his anti-party activities, on Saturday said the allegation that his statement has maligned the image of the party is baseless.

"I didn't make any anti-party statement because I am a soldier of a party. The total allegation is baseless. And I have written to my leader Mr. Mukul Roy that please form a commission against me within the party, I have to say something," he told media here, while justifying his stand.

Ghosh also said that he has not even received the letter of show cause issued against him by the party.

"I didn't receive the show cause letter, but independently I have written a letter to my party. So, you please notice that I am not trying to malign my party. I am trying to say something within my party and I don't want to make any comment against party publicly," he said.

TMC Secretary General Partha Chatterjee earlier in the day said said Ghosh has continued to speak against the outfit lowering and belittling its image despite being show caused.

According to certain media reports, three TMC MPs - Kunal Ghosh, Shatabdi Roy and Tapas Pal - had slammed their party at a public event in Kolkata recently.

The TMC, however, spared MPs Satabdi Roy and Tapas Pal who were also served show cause notices on September 20 after they apologised in writing to the party chief.
