TDP leader Murli Mohan today apologized for his statement over women's' dressing and said that he had good intentions in mind while saying it.
"My intentions are good; I put women in high esteem. But if I hurt feelings of anyone I tender my apology. Tomorrow I'll clarify it in the House. If they feel it is wrong I will apologize," said Mohan.
Earlier today, Mohan created a flutter in the Lok Sabha after he asked women to dress in a dignified manner.
Mohan also said that by doing so the women would be preserving the traditions and culture of our country.
The statement triggered protests in the Lower House from women MPs, one of whom said that the minister should be asked to leave the House.
"His statement asking women to wear dignified dresses is shocking and shameful. Why doesn't he let the men know how to behave with women?
