The International Cricket Council is considering using 'Snicko' technology in the next Ashes series in Australia, after the England series was marred by controversy surrounding Hot Spot.

According to Sport24, ICC chief executive Dave Richardson expressed that Snicko would probably be the first bit of technology introduced.

'Snicko', which uses sound from stump microphones, has not been employed by the third umpire because it causes too much of a delay in decision-making, the report said.

The first Test of the next Ashes series starts on November 21 in Brisbane, the report added.
